Sebastian Wachs is a Professor of Education specializing in digitalization at the Institute of Education, University of Münster, Germany. He studied Educational Science at the University of Bremen where he also earned his doctorate in Media Education. His research examines how digital media influences personality development, focusing on young people’s emotional and social growth, well-being, and online and offline risk behaviors. He investigates issues such as hate speech, cyberbullying, and cybergrooming and is actively involved in designing and evaluating prevention programs—such as “HateLess. Together Against Hatred”—to counteract these challenges. His research has been published in various high impact journals (e.g., Computers in Human Behavior, Computers & Education, Journal of Adolescence, Journal of Interpersonal Violence).
